LA Weekend

PART 1Hubby & I went to LA last weekend with all the cool kids to celebrate Himbo's birthday, we all stayed at The Beverly Hilton.

The Bev. Hilton (that's what we call it, cause we're "cool" like that) was hosting the press junket for "He's just not that into you" we did see a couple of celebrities and even a cast member from the movie! Himbo's suite was on the same floor as the make-up room, we were acting like groupies.

Himbo's birthday extravaganza. The plan was to party in "We Ho" (West Hollywood for all you squares out there) and in case you are not familiar, West Hollywood is the Gay Capital of California. We had a few drinks in Himbo's suite then headed out for the night.

Before we all piled into the elevator, we made friends with a few old timers who knew how to party! They came off the elevator loud, drunk and carrying bottles of booze... my kind of people!

We made it over to the club and met up with more cool kids.

Did I mention retired blog-ebritys attended this major event as well?
MzTapz graced us with her presence.

We made new friends...

Those new friends really showed their hospitality and put on a little show for us...

We met pretty classy ladies, we swapped make-up tips and did each other's hair in the restroom...
We danced, or at least attempted to move around while trying not to spill our drinks...

We rested before we hit the next club...

(My bitches)
(he's my bitch too...Happy Birthday Himbo)

There were WAYyyy more pictures but it's starting to feel like I'm one of those people who makes you sit through a million photo albums when you come over to visit me!
Moving right along now...

PART 2

The next day we all headed out to Bossa Nova for lunch.I think everyone was still drunk...

No... scratch that... I know everyone was still drunk

This could be incriminating evidence, or not. maybe she found it?

After lunch we just cruised around the city

We acted like paparazzi at the Ivy

We did some window shopping on Rodeo Drive

We people watched and brushed up on our fashion skills to blend in with those hip LA peeps!

We seen Tyrese getting his Bentley's tire changed... but I wasn't fast enough with the camera.
PART 3
After a long day of sight seeing we head back to the OC, we parted ways with everyone then went out to dinner and celebrated our lovely anniversary
Aww... Happy Anniversary my love!
Yay for weekend getaways!

Let's Play Catch Up

Well hello there all my BBF's!

Gosh I feel like I've been gone for so long, I have lots of catching up to do on every ones blogs so I'm sure you'll be seeing me back tracking through your last few posts.

I've had a lot going on in Bon Don's world lately... there was an exciting LA trip, my anniversary, Himbo's birthday extravaganza, frogs in the backyard, lot's of "firsts" and we can't forget Bon Don's special dog!

I'll get to my story telling and incriminating evidence aka "pictures" of the last few days as soon as possible but here's a little something from one of my favorite teenagers in the whole world, Joshmo and her "Dingy Lector" post.

Meme

I've been tagged with a Meme from one of my BBF's, The Loss Adjuster. He has been expecting a roving death squad to assassinate him any day now for this, but really I don't mind these meme's one little bit...so go ahead and rest easy now T.L.A!

I'm always curious about other peoples lives, quirks and habits...hence the blogging. I won't tag anyone in particular, but I will tag everyone who reads this blog and would like to use this Meme as a post filler or as an excuse to fulfill your desire for Internet exhibitionism.

The Rules
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag people at the end of your post and link to them
5. Let each person know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

1. I absolutely have to listen to music when I cook or clean, it's a must. It's a form of mediation for me really.

2. It makes me happy when my car smells like Pina Colada.

3. I didn't really try to cook until I got married... But today, you would never know!

4. Speaking of food, I like eating BBQ chips with cottage cheese (I guess this could have been on a "Fat Girl Moment" post)

5. I hate the song "I Will Always Love You" and "The Bodyguard" movie, it make me cringe and angry. (and NO, it doesn't remind me of anyone...they both just make me sick) Sorry to all the Crack Head...I mean Whitney Houston lovers!

6. I say "That Makes Me Sick" or "She/He Makes Me Sick" way too much!

Here is a previous meme, it funny because I look at these lists and realize how many quirks I have. Hee hee

Give It Here Percy!

For some reason I just love quoting movie scenes.

It's a sickness really.

Never fails...I see a movie and for some reason certain lines just stick in my head. It's probably a touch of OCD that keeps me enjoying these quotes over and over again because believe me I really can burn them out!

My favorite will always be "Boo You Whore" - Mean Girls, because I love to Boo everything!

This one is recent "You went full retard, man. Never go full retard" - Tropic Thunder, I like to say that one around Reina Bee alot.

And finally an oldie that has made a come back lately...

OH I LOVE IT!

What Is It About...

At the risk of sounding like a broken record or raging alcoholics I will refrain from going over "all" the details of my weekend, but I will say this...

There was a fabulous Shabu Shabu dinner for two courtesy of my wonderful sister, the purchase of a new LCD TV for Superbowl, flirting with a sales lady, brunch, more drunk dialing, laughter, slurring and swaying over at Bon Don's house. again.

What is it about booze that possess my Hubby to pick up the phone drunk dial everyone he knows, remind them about the Superbowl Party (which by the way has turned into about 20 more people added to the guest list as of last night) and bet people about Football games... he even bet our sister in law!

What is it about booze that makes me love everyone? Why do I feel the need to hug you and tell you how awesome you are? Why must I go into a store and smile at everyone, and give out compliments like they're Halloween candy?
What is it about booze that makes my Hubby blare Reggae music and turn into the ultimate music snob and question the children about what song is playing and who sings it...
Hubby: Jo, who sings this song!?
Jo: Steel Pulse Dad... *walking briskly in the other direction knowing Dad will keep talking*
Hubby: Cindy-jo! Who sings this one?
Cindy-jo: *yelling from the hallway, * That Gregory Isaacs guy dad...
Hubby: Babe... Me: Sweetheart I only know this music because of you! I recognize all the voices, but give me a break about the name of the songs... *smiling*
Good Times.

Boo!

I'm sad today...
I was sad on Tuesday when my sister Runaway train went back to Cabo. She offered to take Hubby & I back with her and spoil us be we couldn't go on short notice.

We could have been HERE this whole week !
*just to clarify things*
those are actual pictures of the house we would have been staying at!

Fat Girl Moment...

Mc Donalds Hot Fudge Sundae with French Fries is one of my many Fat Girl Moments.

(BTW, and I can say Fat Girl because I am one!)

I dip my Fries into the Ice Cream.

Seriously.

It may be gross to some people but... I don't give a shit. it's good!

I don't usually eat fries with ice cream or any other weird combinations for that matter, but for some reason when it comes to Mickey D's I have some weird cravings.

What's your weird craving?

Really So. Cal?

This was my car dash on the way home from work.

Yes, it really does say 80 degrees... IN JANUARY!

Boo.

It's annoying, because I actually enjoy cold weather and the few months of coolness we get here I like to savor them.

This is just not Ok with me.

Don't mind me, I'm just being cranky.

It's hot.

Did You Get Your Invite Too?

Hey everyone hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

If there wasn't any booze, sex or rock n' roll going on in your life I hope you at least finished all your list of chores & errands, or even just rested and did absolutely nothing because that's always equally fabulous.

My weekend flew by pretty fast, Saturday night we partied like college kids again. Seriously! We busted out the red cups & everything SO FUN!!

Dula Dip had a party there were lot's of people, lot's of drinks, a fire pit, a DJ, a beer bong...yes a beer bong! Good Times.

We of course followed it up with Sunday Brunch and plenty of mimosas yesterday. Hubby was on a roll again, during brunch he went to town on those mimosas and when we got home he started watching the game with my brother. Immediately they both started knocking back a few beers and the room quickly began to smell like cold beer, lemon and salt, yum!

So there I am being lazy in our room enjoying my mimosa buzz watching a movie then the next thing I hear is Hubby on his phone drunk dialing everyone he knows talking about "Our Superbowl Party" (funny I hadn't heard of said party)

After calling everyone in the free world Hubby comes in the room and says "So what do you think should we have a Super Bowl Party?" I said "yeah that sounds good, especially since everyone is already invited!"
He just laughs and starts talking about the menu and what we should have and going over the guest list and who he just talked to... I'm sitting there laughing to myself, this guy is too much!

Truthfully I'm kind of excited because I love entertaining just as much as he does, we love having everyone over because any excuse to eat, drink and be merry is A-Ok in my book.
So yes folks, apparently we are having a party... and I think just about everyone is invited! And how was your weekend?
p.s. I would just like to apologize in advance for the new word & comment verification crap, I tried for as long as I could to keep that off of my blog because I hate having to type in those random words but some attention whore just screwed it up . Sorry my BBF's

Guys and Dolls

My Hubby collects every video game system known to man, and I collect Barbies. (Don't get Runaway Train started on this one)

Yesterday he had a day off so he went on a little trip to Goodwill to see if he could find any old video games.

While he was there, I just so happen to call him and ask what he was up to...

He told me where he was at and said "I just found another Nintendo for a couple of bucks, they even have Barbies here. Want me to get you some? They're not in boxes and some don't have any clothes on though"

Umm Yes Please! *smiling*

So there he goes, searching through dolls and toys. Apparently there are some regulars that hit the joint and don't mess around!

There were some ruthless lady's pushing and shoving people out of the way, one went so far as trying to steal the dolls my hubby had put to the side. (she obviously didn't win that fight)

When he got home the girls couldn't resist taking a picture of their Dad with all the dolls!

How tough does this look?

Man he must really love me!

Dirtbags!

My friends and I turn every word you can think of, dirty. We go out to lunch at Corner Bakery for a Panini Sandwich and let's just say all the jokes that come along with that phrase alone are never pretty!

Our reputation has gotten so bad one of our other friends was trying to tell me a story, but stopped mid sentence and reworded what she was saying because she knew we would turn it into something naughty.

One day out of the blue we were having lunch and Dula Dip looked up with this serious face and said "You guys, why are we such dirtbags?"

This whole time I just figured we were being silly all in good fun... until today. Himbo just validated her question.

Please see the email conversation below:

Nep-o-tism
Show Spelled Pronunciation [nep-uh-tiz-uh m] –noun
patronage bestowed or favoritism shown on the basis of family relationship, as in business and politics

Example:
Bon Don showed nepotism when she linked her daughters new blog site on “Who Throws a Cupcake? Honestly!” for all her BBF's to check out.

*UPDATE*

For the record I was not the drunk one in Cabo, It was someone who shall remain nameless!

... but I will give you a hint, she practically lives in Cabo, she has a blog, and she likes "Runaway Trains", but those are the only hints I will give because I respect her privacy and I wouldn't rat her out.

BON DON HAZARD!

I was feeling under the weather today, throat's a little scratchy, sinuses dry and irritated from an early morning nose bleed. When I got to work I had plenty to do, but at least it kept me busy from thinking about how crummy I was feeling.

Lunch time came around so I called Dula Dip & Reina Bee to head out to lunch, we opted for the employee cafeteria. After sitting there watching Reina Bee suck the BBQ sauce off the ribs she was eating (which was a show in itself let me tell you) I said "I feel like crap, make me laugh"

...being the awesome friends that they are I seen the expression on their faces change into a deep concentration, trying to think of something to make me laugh.

Reina Bee: Ok I got one, I don't think I told you guys about my laundry night did I?

Dula Dip / Bon Don: *shaking heads no*

Reina Bee: Well the other night I was doing laundry and someone left clothes in the washer, as it was all the washers were taken and this asshole just leaves the wet clothes in the washer. I was pissed, I could only wash two loads cause I wasn't about to wait there all night! Even when I was done drying the clothes were still there, so I took this lint that someone took out of the dryer and crumbled it into the washer!

Bon Don: Oh now that's just mean! / Dula Dip: Yeah Reina that's pretty messed up!

Reina Bee: Fuck you bitches, you do way meaner things than that! That was funny!

Dula Dip: Reina what if that person didn't come back because they got into an accident?

Bon Don: Yeah!? *laughing because Reina Bee is getting frustrated*

Dula Dip: And what if because of the accident they had to make a homemade wheelchair just to try and get the clothes out of the washer and it takes them a long time to get to the laundry room?

Bon Don: Yeah... and they broke their arm in the accident, and now they are trying to get back to take the clothes out of the washer so they wouldn't piss you off but they keep rolling in circles because they can't get the hang of the homemade wheelchair and when they finally get close to the laundry room they pop a tire!

Dula Dip: Not only did they pop a tire but they popped it right in front of the door to the laundry room so discourage and then seen you crumbling the lint in their washer *imitates the sound of air releasing and then leans to one side like she got a flat tire*

Reina Bee: I fucken hate you guys, Shut up you're making me mad!

Dula Dip & Bon Don: *Laughing at Reina's anger*

Well I laughed so hard I aggravated my nose and it just started bleeding (yes like a coke whore with a deviated septum!) I got up and hurried to the restroom, as I kept getting visuals of what we were telling Reina Bee I started laughing and it made blood spray all over my shirt! Eeww.

Mean while back at the cafeteria, Reina Bee and Dula Dip called Security because there was a few drops of blood on the table and since Dula Dip is on the "safety committee" you can't wipe up blood you have to call Security. So now Security comes in takes the table into the hallway and hoses it down with bleach!

After my nose stops bleeding, I go back to my desk unaware of what's happening in the cafeteria when Reina Bee's boss comes by to ask if I'm ok because the cafeteria looks like a murder scene with pools and trails of blood everywhere!

I'm so embarrassed and say "No way, are you serious?"

He starts laughing and says "Not really there were a few drops of blood on the table but Reina & Dula didn't let me wipe it up, then Security comes in takes the table out in haz-mat suits and hoses it down in the hallway. It looks like CSI in there"

I wanted to kill them!

Oh well I asked for it right? I wanted them to make me laugh.

Sinner?

Gluttony:
An inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.
Hubby and I are guilty of committing this Sin, sometimes we even convince others to join us in our road to Biblical defiance.
We are HTB sinners. (HTB: Home Town Buffet)

Every now & then we like to hit the all you can eat buffet and just completely act like the fatty's we are. I mean how can you not love the idea of eating a salad, maybe a little Italian then go back for some carved ham. Oh and don't forget dessert, with the soft serve ice cream and hot fudge cake.
I'm making myself hungry again I need to stop.
See although this is a very casual place to eat, there is still a little process we like to follow at the buffet. Nothing fancy just some "Bon Don Etiquette" to get you through your dining experience.

Rule #1. Take it slow.
Never start off with a giant heaping plate of food, you need to make sure you take small portions, you know, more like samples. That way you don't get full too fast or overwhelmed. Once we took a friend who thought she knew how to hang with the big dogs, she ate so much she turned pale and almost pasted out. It was kind of funny. We pointed and laughed.

Rule #2. Wear comfy clothes.
Always wear expandable pants, leave the jeans at home.
I couldn't resist taking this picture the other night. The man in this picture totally had the right idea! "Zebra print MC Hammer pants" dressed up with a button up shirt and sweater, you know comfy on the bottom but dressed up above the table.

Rule #3. Never fight over food.
Yes that's right, don't ever fight over food they always replenish food items. I promise. For instance take the lady from the other night, see I asked Hubby to serve me some Jello with a side of whipped cream. ( I was too busy trying to get a picture of homeboy in the zebra pants) as Hubby was serving my Jello this lady stood there hovering over him and had the nerve to say:

Lady: "Are you kidding me?

Hubby: *Looks over his shoulder to see if she's talking to him*

Lady: Are you seriously going to take the rest of that?

Hubby: Why did you want some?

Lady: Yeah

Hubby: "Oh" ok then.

looks right at her as he scoops and proceeds to take more then originally planned and wiped out the rest of the Jello just to piss her off!*

I love my Hubby... and yes I finished all the Jello and looked right at her while eating it!

Morning Sunshine!

I know it's not really morning as I write this, it's more like 4:45pm-ish on Sunday but to me it feels like morning. I've slept all day. I think I'm trying to fight off that little cold bug that everyone is catching, eww.

I hope every ones New Years Eve was fun & safe! We had a blast, we had so many visitors through out the day. My brothers friends stopped by, my cousins that I haven't seen in a while, of course the regulars who you can usually find here on NYEve, and Dula Dip even made a cameo before she hit the town.

We were having so much fun chit-chatting that we almost forgot the countdown, I think it was around 430am when I realized I was slurring and I should probably go to bed. We slept in the next day and just lounge around for the next two days eating and watching Six Feet Under.

When the last of our house guests left yesterday (Saturday morning) Hubby & I decided we should join the rest of the population and leave our house. We ditched the girls and left them to take care of my Momma while we ran a few errands and grabbed dinner, OK FINE the girls really ditched us for Chuck E Cheeses and shopping with my Momma.

We ended up over at Himbo's house till the early this morning (just a few of the cool kids hanging out enjoying Himbo luxurious hospitably) I can't believe I've had a four day weekend already I'm so ready for the weekend, again.
